| i duno...but what i've learnt is that there are many ways to do the same thing.
some things like how to hit hybrids...even the pros haven't decided what's the 'right' way. some pros say address in the middle and hit it like an iron while others say ball forward in stance and hit it like a fairway wood...

| Exactly!
Who bothers who is correct, as long the ball rolls into the hole, or is close enough for a gimme.

| I think it really does not matter too. Just hit what is comfortable for yourself as long as you can consistency land you ball at the distance you intented ( whether it is 5, 7, 10 or 15 steps just on the green and let the ball roll to the pin ). Always tell yourself to chip to holed .. so read the green carefully .. | |

JacK Nichols chip with his hand while Tiger chip with his arms and shoulder. Look in the mirror mate, if you move your hands your arms and shoulders also move, just a different way of thinking about it.

| Just my personnel opinion, I am not a good player (if you do not mind). Try to do one method that gave you more consistency in distance control (whether it is hand or shoulder / arm). Interchanging 2 methods will be confusing.
I think I used more shoulder / arm method that gave me better control. It just work for me. Next, really need to practice allot to get high consistency in different lies ( over bunker having short and far pin location, thick rough, hard pan lie, long running chip with back pin location, high hill / down slope lie chip .. etc )
One best and fast suggestion was to play more with my Shi Xiong (slinger), I understand he is a master in chipping. However, need to find your personal method that work for you. I do not believe there were right or wrong method (as you see so many teaching methods in golf channel, book, video, different instructor). Consistency is keys as far as I am concern

Sorry Pro, I never question a Pro teaching but just wanted to understand better. I might have miss understand what is hands, arms and shoulder. When one use only hands. Doesn't it mean that he is just using his hand to ht the ball without turing his shoulder/arm ? Or just hit the ball with his hand & arm without turing his shoulder. Did I confuse you ? I think I confused myself here Sorry

| follow your body which allows you to give you your best shots. do not imitate any golfers. you may have the ugliest swing or body movement but your scores are lower than the pro-swingers. | |
