| Granted the news is a bit late and there was a bit of drama but its still good news for those who have also ponder about switching from steel to graphite hybrid shaft.
Snedeker prevails on emotional day
Brandt now join Matt Kuchar as the 2 players who have switched and where Aerotech Steelfiber have made a big difference in their game and endurance.

PS its Brandt 3rd win but the first with Steelfiber, he switched to the SF last year.

| Bro DGMan, so what are some of the considerations that you think people would have when switching from steel to graphite shafts?
Personally, I don't find there's a lot of weight difference between graphite shafts and newer generations of steel shafts, but then again I might be wrong.
Is it just down to personal preferences only? Does changing to graphite shafts from steel really impact the swing speed and distance in a positive way
I'm using steel shafts, and I've friends who kept bugging me to switch :-). Somehow I just got used to steel since I started playing steel anyway.
Appreciate your inputs to a newbie golfer :-)

| Just had my Steelfibers done with BFG the week before CNY and took them out for 4 consecutive games (back-to-back). The shafts are lesser in weight compared to my KBS and there was no loss in distance nor ball flight dispersion + fatigue was not really an issue for 4 consecutive days' of 18 holes (in fact I've hit them further). I would definitely recommend these shafts for elderly golfers and young golfers who want to gun their shots further with maximum playability........

| i'm currently using NSpro 950GH regular steel shafts, which are serving me well
but out of curiosity, if i'm to switch to steelfiber, which model of steelfiber would be a good replacement for the NSpro 950?
how much will it cost to reshaft a set of irons (5 to Pw)?

| I have a simple question for brothers camping here in anticipation of the price range of this shaft..... How do you equate pain free golf to $$ invested in this set of shafts......? I reckon its no rocket science | |

| Vinny, not everyone experiences pain with normal steel shafts. I certainly don't.
i'm just curious to see if steel fiber shafts will really give more distance whilst maintaining consistency.
therefore, price becomes a relevant factor for consideration. cos i'm not prepared to pay a lot more just to gain 5 yards of distance.

| from experience with weight, do not use the same weight of steel and graphite cos the SF will feel more robust than most steel.
for example if you are using a NS Pro 950 in r flex, changing to a firm (R+) i80 (under 85g) will play the same and most likely create a lower ball flight.
the SF comes in tapered or paralleled tip and the paralleled tip is more versatile in creating the desired tip stiffness.
The top of the line is the I-99 series which is designed with Ascending Mass Design, making it easier to hit long irons and more control on the shorter irons. the weight of the shaft starts from 90+g for the 3 iron to 110 g for the PW.
The rest of the SF - i70, i-80 and i95 cost uabout $100 inclusive of head extraction of current irons, installation and finishing. coloured ferrules can be included as well as extraction and installation of grips. loft and lie adjustment is usually included at no extra cost when you reshaft.
what some pros have to say......
"When I switched to Aerotech Golf shafts, I was looking for a lighter weight iron shaft that could provide me with consistent ball flight and spot on distance control. Aerotech's SteelFiber shafts fit the bill perfectly. The SteelFiber technology has allowed me to take advantage of all the benefits of a graphite shaft yet still maintain complete control over my golf ball." — Matt Kuchar, PGA Tour pro
"I play the SteelFiber i95 iron shafts and really love the feel and performance they give me. Moving away from the x100's and into the SteelFiber i95’s has allowed me to develop three different shot trajectories, instead of just a high and low. Plus, I've picked up a few more yards in the process." — Cameron Beckman, PGA Tour pro
hope it helps...fresh stock arrive end week or early next week.

| the best place to buy this online is golfsmith and for the tapered sets, it usually comes 3 iron to PW in a set of 8 pcs.
its easier to browse the aerotech website and check the price from their list of resellers.
good luck.

| i use to play with the DG TX Tour 90 shafts in my irons....
but i develop elbow injury from my range time....
i have since switched to both i99 n i95 in both of my irons sets....
after some medical consultation, my elbows have healed...
but i dare not play steel shafts in my irons in case i kenna my elbow again....
naturally i pick the i99 n i95 SF as its the closest to the TX Tour 90 i played in....
both the i99 n i95 gave me at least a club distance more than my TX... my 7i now is abt 150m compared to 140m using my TX
in terms of performance, i dun find it lacking as compared to other premiere steel shafts (before the TX, i try the PX n NSPro)
in fact, it won me my 1st major trophy in club championship....
and i wouldnt have done it without the help of DGman.....

| Eric,
You forgot to mention that Brandt Snedeker won two weeks ago at Torrey Pines with the Aerotech Steelfibre i95 constant weight shafts in his irons. (4-pw)

| Had my doubts about SF till i saw Slinger's set. Thanks to DGman for fitting me with the i80 and i was sold immediately. In terms of stability and playability, it definitely tops my list. And it also adds to my distance. Now itching for an upgrade to i90... | |
