| NB....none of mine ever appeared on the list.
so....should be legit to ask for some advantages when playing against those who have the hot and hottest list....I suppose

| It's so predictable, all we need to do is to list the latest models from each category from the top major brands with ads on golfdigest and you can basically cover > 80% of what golfdigest will put on their hot list. Take few clubs from small brands for appearance but never gold.
The clubs ain't bad, just that I take it as it is, another form advertising.

| Ever seen a car magazine review on magazines like Evo or Top Gear that did not publish the top speed, 0-100 time, horsepower, torque of the cars being reviewed?
Here the reviews do not have a single Trackman (or any launch monitor for that matter) number.
So, imagine Jeremy Clarkson going... "we can't put it that the Nissan GTR's time around the Nurburgring is faster than the Porsche 911. Porsche is a major advertiser. They will pull their ads. I won't get free Porsches to play with anymore. Why don't we just leave the numbers out, and put in a category called, wait for it, Wow Factor! I mean, what would you rather have, a Nissan, or a PORSCHE?" Mays and Hammond nod approvingly.
There is another magazine, UK-based, where they put the launch numbers of all the clubs reviewed generated by a high, mid and low handicapper. I find that approach far more sensible. I can look at the numbers and decide for myself which one suits me.
Instead of raw data, here we get something called 'Demand' or 'Buzz'. Ah, well...

| Aiya... Just play the clubs one is comfortable with... Afterall "Winners Play Callaway"... "ProV... The #1 Ball on Tour"
If there is no marketing... How do peopl buy into the hype of using a club with the word "ballz" on it?

| Another year, another GD Hot List. Thanks for sharing the news. Although it's hard to resist the lure of fantastic claims and new shiny clubs, my thoughts are it's not about the game that's in the clubs, it's about the game that is in you. I'm hoping to improve my game in 2012 and not the contents of my bag... | |
