I am just curious, how easy or hard does one gets adapted to change in a golf swing. I mean, when we go to range, its great to have someone next to you giving good and valid tips on improvement. But in real life, how long does it take before you actually make it work?

My coach said that it will be somewhat ingrained after 1000 - 2000 swings. I guess it would sound common sensical to do that in the driving range but in my personal opinion, if you can force yourself to consciously use the new swing on the course, it gets ingrained faster. Practicing on the course makes every shot much more important and if the new swing produces positive results, you will be able to associate positive mental pictures to the new feeling.

But having said that, it is easier said than done. If bets are on the line, that's where self doubt comes in. So... If u do decide to do it, u must be mentally prepared to lose money. Else hit those thousands of balls in the range first.

For me if I will try it out at the range to see if it suits me, if it feels good prob will work on it for one or two range sessions before bringing to the course

Difficulty is when at course and the old habits start to creep into the game, so mentally have to keep reminding myself.

It will take some time before your can groove the change into your game til it becomes effortless.Look at Tiger, took him some time for him to get used to his new swing.

Need to know what is the difference between the new and the old swing. Always good to know what goes wrong in the swing and its allows easier correction now and then.
