But trust me, you don't want to be walking ard in slippers or flip flops on the course. Big time blisters man. My friend did it at the HSBC and regretted immediately. Yeah, that was what I was told too. Because of the amount of walking required, it's best to come in comfortable walking shoes. If not, you'll end up with badly bruised feet.

| track shoes are better, all caddies wear track shoes, not golf shoes......
when JD told his caddy to fly kite in the between of his round years ago (dunno which tournament), he pluck a spectator as his caddy....
so if that thing happens this weekend to any of the pro, dun let your golf shoes prevent u form being a pro caddy........

| I wear a pair of old seasoned golf shoes. Give me some grips to walk up slope and water proof against damp grass. Track shoes may get damp and soggy | |

| No difference this year watching it on TV. Alot of 'No cameras please' by the players' caddies everytime they line up a shot. My neighbour asked me yesterday how come cameras are allowed on the course during the tournament when it is such a strict rule here to follow when they watch a PGA tour event. Guess we'll never learn. | |

| I wore a pair of Timberlands. Not too bad, but I need thicker socks. The course is muddy so wearing trackshoes may be tough cause its wet. | |

| For those who are planning to attend tomorrow's session, do what botak suggested which includes: 1. Bringing your own H2O and food. Water/drinks are very expensive there. 2. Bring and use sunblock lotion. I used some but I'm still burnt 3. Bring a towel. You are going to sweat. Heaps. 4. Bring an umbrella. I'm not sure if a golf umbrella is useful since it's big and bulky. Up to you, but definitely carry an umbrella. 5. Wear comfortable shoes. 6. Wear comfortable & cooling clothing (shorts are allowed). I wore my Mizuno Bio-Gear which I'm quite glad I did cause it gets hot and humid. Tomorrow, I'll put on my Skinz. 7. Bring something you can sit on. There'll be opportunities for you to sit by the rough around the greens but you may not want to dirty your pants so bring a towel, cloth, mat etc. Whatever it takes to keep your clothes clean. 8. If you want autographs, make sure you carry a marker pen (and be prepared to lose it too). Enjoy | |

| Another entertaining day at Serapong and lots of stories to tell. Just to clear up some doubt about the Hole-in-one feat by Thailand's Chapchai Nirat - he DID NOT win the BMW as what some people might have perceived. The HIO prize was for the 14th which was the AP watch. Here's the scoop:
http://sify.com/news/harrington-calls-singapore-open-asias-major-singapore-open-diary-news-international-jk5q4cfffdf.html
"An ace but no watch for Chapchai Chapchai Nirat, that burly but always smiling Thai golfer, who set a world record while winning this year's SAIL Open with a record 32-under-par, shot the first hole-in-one of this year's Singapore Open. He holed out with a two iron on the 239-yard par-3 eighth hole, which was his second last of the day. Chapchai led last year's Singapore Open by three shots heading into the final round but carded a 78 to finish joint seventh. 'I thought it was going to be close -- it took a nice bounce to the right and went into the hole,' said Chapchai, who carded a 67 for the round. It was the ninth ace on the Asian Tour and the 29th on the European Tour this season. Alas, all Chapchai got was applause, for the hugely coveted Audemars Piguet watch was on offer only for a hole-in-one on the 14th. "

| Noob question.. Where is appropriate to get autographs? Only after they complete their 18 holes or as they approach the next tee box, we can ask the players?
Dun wan to get thrown out of the course tomorrow.. heee..

| If you ask them walking from tee to tee, you will very likely to be ignored and or scolded by caddies or marshals. The only appropriate places are:
1. Driving range before or after practice 2. Putting green before they practice. Normally they will be rushing off to tee box after that. 3. After games
some pros do not like signing before games

| Best to ask them after they finish the round, when they are more relaxed. Of course you must see how they played, and the general temperament of the player too. Catch them when they coming off the last hole or after they submit their scorecard.
Before the round they are zoning in, best to leave them alone.
And keep an eye on ur souvenir item and marker, very often it can be just snatched by someone else, or given by the player to someone else by mistake too. So if you have an item that's already got tons of other autographs, watch it close.
Best players for chance of autograph are Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els. Ian Puoulter beware, can bite ur head off. Darren Clarke got mood. Adam Scott possible, but guaranteed if you send a pretty lady.

| A friend of mine tried to interview Ian and asked him wat his gameplan was for the next day. His answer "play golf!". My friend pressed further, asking Ian his strategy, reply was "tee the ball up, hit it, and repeat"
On the other hand, a staff member who sent him out to the course said Ian was chatty and bubbly, even playful. The staff member got the scare of his life cos he thought Ian was falling out of the moving buggy, reached over and grabbed Ian. He was just trying to swing out and grab another player's towel in another buggy.

| if you are looking for autographs, just target phil and ernie. They are the best to get autographs. Phil and Ernie would actually go to the putting green/driving range early and stand there just to sign autographs before proceeding to practice. It is part of their routine. They are perhaps the most friendly golfers to the fans. | |
