The original Avenger were
Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, The Wasp (Female) & Ant Man,
Captain America only joined later when they discovered his frozen bdy and revived him. and SHIELD did not form the avengers...SOmetimes it is very sad to see "Movie adapted" versions that stray so far form the truth.....
Spider Man was recruited very very much later into the Avengers.
THe unique thing about the Avengers are that the team members are never the same, it has alwyas rotated. the only thing that has not changed is their battle cry - Avengers Assemble"
The above was a result of many many years spent at Comics Mart in Serene centre....haiz....those were the days..........

The costumes may be different, but the super powers are the same - the ability to extract the life force out of you. Now, whether slow or fast depends on the strength of the individual victim.

The luxury brand counterpart to the Avengers would be Sex and The City.

Hello I am here.... haha. Only in the movie that they smashed the skybridge. Never ever happen in the comics. What sensationalisation by the producers. Totally remodel the original story line.

Think this focuses on the early formative years of The Avengers, so Vision will be out. Which means no Scarlet Witch (Vision's wife), Wonderman and Dr Strange.
Did I see a flash of someone pulling a bow in the trailer? That would be Hawkeye then wouldn't it?

Marvel stays the truest to the original story line la, DC Comics was worse, they had absolutely no quality control over their Super Hero movies. Look at the Superman and Batman movies. Hollywood always takes creative liberties one, just how much control Marvel or DC has over their characters and storyline.
If X-men had stayed true to the original story, all of them would have been wearing blue and yellow suits and there would have been no phoenix or wolverine. The movie picked up the X-Men with generation 2 onwards. As it were in the movie, Colossus was non-existent and Nightcrawler was more an outside member of the team.
Ironic how we say that the movie is not true and real enough to the comics, when the reality is that both movie and comics are all fantasy in the first place.

Ah, that explains it.
Stan Lee plays an active role, as a producer (Marvel productions - very smart), as well as appearing as cameo in all the Marvel movies.
Probably why there's more control.

Well said Bird ... and whether in comics or movies, still good entertainment.
Btw ... I missed the Capt America movie, anyone knows if it is available in the shops yet? Singapore or otherwise?
