| Hi all, Need some intell on getting a PC at MBGC. I think I can pass if the distance criteria are not too strict. I can definately clear 6 out of 10 for 50/75/100m. Not sure on 3 out 5. Law of small numbers gets me in trouble. What's your experience on this being assessed? As for 150m, it is about 5/6 out of 10 and closer to 145m on that. What's your experience on being assessed? Does 150m include carry? If it does my 5/6 becomes 7/8 on 10 balls. No joke, how straight does 150m need to be to pass? FYI, I am taking lessons from a part time coach and I go to the range 2-4 hours each week. Thanks in advance | |

| HI bro, I didn't know that pc test got test you at the range for distance. Thats news to me. I thought the coach will take you for a round of 9 holes. You are telling me they do that now or all this awhile they got test distance at the range during pc test? | |

| Not strict at all, i hit one good shot for 75/100/150 and the tester passed me immediately, i didn't even bother with hitting 50m shots. Then, as i already bought 50 balls, i foolishly proceeded to use my 5 iron to clear the unused balls and shanked almost all, right in the tester's face. Still passed..
Oh, and i saw others reaching 140m, and that includes carry. Everyone in my group passed, so no worries bro.

| Rngrover,
are u referring to the PC conducted by Star Golf (based at MBGC) or the swing test that you have to take if u do not have a handicap to play at MBGC?

I called them and they said I could sign up for the PC without lessons. I asked if the 150 included carry and the lady said she did not know what I was talking about as she is not a coach. Asked her about how strict the criteria were and like any good salesperson she slipped in a pitch and said if i am not confident or fail, I could get lessons from them. I don't want fail

| If you are not taking lessons there, why do you want to get PC from Star Golf? If you want to play at MBGC, you can just take a swing test | |

How many balls did u hit to clear 75/100/150. If it is just 3-9 balls, I think we are not talking newbie language 150 for me will take a number of tries. Which club did you use for the 150.

When I google searched only OCC and Star offer PC. For OCC I don't meet requirements...union membership or OCC membership. Called Star no requirements other than to go down, pay and select date for a PC test. As to why PC instead of swing test, just added convenience. Taking test always makes me uptight...rather not tense up before I try a relaxing game of golf.

150 for me will take a number of tries. Which club did you use for the 150. Yes, i took it at MGBC, and I'm not taking any lessons. If i'm not mistaken, Star Academy students are not required to take the swing test portion of the test, they just need to pass the MCQ. I saw them leave straight after the test, while non-students had to stay put. I hit 3 balls, one for each distance (75/100/150). I used my 5 iron for the 150m shot, cause i'm a short hitter, haha. That was the only good shot i made with the 5 iron that day. Like i mentioned, i shanked almost every shot with my 5 iron afterwards, when clearing my remaining range balls, to my horror.
