thinking of getting a GPS. Am new to this so any info is welcome. Or review of the unit you're using.

Looking at:

1. Ability to map your own course (does all model/companies have this feature?). Important because my course is relatively unknown in OZ.
2. Simple unit, just distance from last position (to know my clubs distance), distance to pin/hazard.
3. Monochrome or colour doesn't matter. Fly by view, 3D view etc not required.
4. Ability to keep score is bonus, not must.
5. Small in size to clip on bag or put in pocket (not sure if it works though).
6. No sunscription or 1 lifetime subscription for map downloads.

thanks in advance.

Why not just get a laser range finder? Gives you exact distance from anywhere on the course as long as you have line of sight to your desired target and no subscriptions/map downloads required. I'm currently using a bushnell and am loving it!! Very Happy

Agreed I think Range Finder is better as you can get the slope edition which is kind of useful when u mapping the course ,but you can't use in competition . they also got same one for tournament play....
