Offset.

That's was the problem when I switch from ap to cobra.

huh ??? ball placing ? So where do we put the ball for less or no offset as compare to set with offset like Ping i15 and Ikasu set ?

Correct me if I I'm wrong but I think those with offset, slightly behind as compared to those without offset.

offset means.....

playing with kian, your clubs will be offset.....

playing with agumon, your clubs confirm no offset....

Lets say (With all things being equal) if I play my short irons with ball position in the middle, how i do adjust ball position to compensate for offset in the GI clubs??

Actually I played pretty decent golf when I was using my 2002, Callaway Big Bertha clone irons. They were chunky, had quite a bit of offset but were easy to hit.

I didn't find that I had to worry about ball placement too much. Set up with club face aimed at target then move in to grip club, with my usual grip (some ppl's hands more forwards; nearer left leg pocket; some more centered, nearer their crotch; up to you.) and just whack...

Grandmaster, you K & N smlj club offset or no offset hit hard look up also go straight straight and long lah, so dun tork kork here.

Can I suggest that you put the ball in the same position with the offset club as u do with your normal clubs and make a normal swing.

Try it for a couple of balls and see if you like the ball flight then make adjustments accordingly if necessary.

Common scenario at the range.

Golfer A: wah, new clubs ah, steady leh, got offset, more forgiving... Must take strokes Liao man.

Golfer B: sure or nt.. Got offset, means more forgiving... ( and at the same time, trying tossing as hard as he could)

Dunno about you guys, but when I first switched to high offset irons (Callaway X14s), I had trouble setting up comfortable because I was thrown off visually when I looked down. Instead of a forward shaft lean, I was subconsciously moving leaning the shaft back to get in more line with the head, the position I was more used to then. That just created a whole other set of problems until I got used to seeing the shaft sit in front of the clubhead.

It was then I realised how integral the visual component was to the swing, especially for an amateur without a solid foundation in the basics.

I recently moved to a zero offset putter, the Newport 2.6, and my putts stopped hooking.

Looks a bit intimidating at address at first, but once I got comfortable, I can get a straighter ball roll with it compared to my Newport 2.

Similarly, with irons or wood, if I swing something with too much offset, I will tend to hook.

What kind of skillset to equip with in order to use less offset irons?
