| As a continuation of my golfing pursuit, I was originally very hesitant to even convince myself if I should take part in the GR charity event…which was my first game in 3 months. As much as I want to tell myself that the hibernation period will serve as a catalyst to replenishment of good shots, the trick was finding out how much of that had been mixed up with the bad shots !!!
Nevertheless, the stars were aligned, the moon was shining .....quickly gave a sms to moonie…and like they said, the rest is history….meaning my humbling experience just got started
2 days before the GR event, I know and I must go for range. Did all the sweet talks to CO..and drop by Stary x2 nite…it turn up to be a scary x2 nite instead. My short game was very short against my expectation !!!!! Decided instead to absorb the good karma led by watching my #1 top-ranked Bad Boy (aka Golffool)…wat can I say….ball straight, ball fly……it seems that everybody who hits anybody clubs..all hit very well on that nite.
Suddenly later…. fm afar….3 well known personalities (in addition to the already many) were heading in our area…holy COW !!! its my idol ‘the shoemaker’ and The Grandmaster….followed by another great chap who I think I will be playing with this coming Sat.
In my mind, I was trying to gain courage to ask for a match with The Grandmaster…something like this ‘ eh, Grandmaster, will you be kind enough to have a game with me…since we did not finish the last game at lo-hei….if you win me by 10 strokes or more, I buy drinks…BUT if I lost to you by 10 strokes or more, I buy drinks’….try as I mite…but no courage
17th June came…….my flt is made up of whos who and myself…..its pretty obvious that I will be hitting the 2nd shot first. I am amazed by the ability and competency of my buggy mate…a young man by the nick ‘ I ‘. Observing fm afar the intense rivalry between ZX and MC was a joy….very entertaining…and yet at the same time, clearly reveal the gap between them and I (in case you are wondering…the I is me…Duval) in other words…..HUMBLING !!!!
But in midst of being humbled…it was a joy to see the std of golf going up and upper within the GR community...
