| i bought a driver from an authorised shop.
then i found out that it was extremely hard to get the ball airbone let alone hitting a straight shot.
all the while i thot it was my swing. ( i am NOT the type who blame the equipment easily)
then i retired the club and used a driver from a fren. no problem. I never have much problems with my drivers off the tee.
a few days ago. i was sitting and chatting with some 'seniors- old birds' in the golf industry. and suddenly the topic was 'one of the authorised shop ' selling fakes in their shop.
so i was surprised. the shop mentioned was the one i bought my driver. what a coincidence. up till this point , i still dont believe that an authorised shop would risk and and try to sell fakes along with their originals.
anyway.. i am tempted to get my driver verified by a some with credibility. just to clear my dilemma. how do i do it? and should i? | |

| What are you concerned about?
(a) Is it that the club you have is a fake and therefore you want a refund? (b) Is it that the shop is selling fakes?
For (a), it is worth verifying but where to verify would depend on the manufacturer. Even then, it may be difficult to do so. I'd reckon that you check with folks like DGMan etc first. He may be able to give you a good guess as to whether your club is fake. If it is likely a fake, then you can go back to the manufacturer or authorized reseller to get confirmation (if at all this is possible in Singapore).
Assuming that it is fake and you have proper confirmation, you can go back to the shop and demand a refund. If not, you can consider reporting the incident to the authorities etc.
For (b), it's difficult to prove this unless you've done (a) above. There's hearsay going around as to which shops deal what. Don't immediately believe everything you hear. It's best to do some homework first.
