Food Treasures Gelang Patah - Sim Seafood (Opposite 777 Coffee Shop)

Folks,

Sharing my most recent food escapade in JB - Gelang Patah. This is one place that I highly recommend. Good food, very reasonable prices, well cooked, unique and very very yummy delicious. A fellow GR member have been looking for this shop for years now. He used to frequent this restaurant when it was still in its old place near "Come Again Restaurant". When it moved, he lost touch and couldn't find the place until when we hunt around for it. To be honest, I was very skeptical about it when he mentioned how good was the food. I was proven wrong!

The location:


How to get there? Exit to Gelang Patah if you are coming from 2nd link. Then continue to follow the route until you reach a "T" junction. On the "T" junction turn left. After you turn left of the road, you will see a 3 story shop lot on the left, on the opposite far right of the road, a petronas kiosk. Turn left on the 1st exit, you will see 2 big coffee/restaurant - GP88 and 777. Sim Seafood is located opposite of 777.

Exit onto Lebuhraya Persisiran Pantai Jb - Nusajaya
Take the ramp onto Jalan Gelang Patah
Turn left at Jalan Nusa Perintis 10/7
Take the 1st right onto Medan Nusa Perintis 7
Take the 1st left

Before you go there, I must warn you on the food ordering process! A bit complicated but you will be rewarded with good food. You MUST walk over the counter to order from Lady Boss (Madam Khuan). Why? Because, Sim seafood happens to be the 2nd seafood in Restoran 777 and not allow to approach customers to take in orders. So, if some one walk over to order seafood, dont let them take your orders, walk over to Counter.

What to eat there?
- Wildboar - Braised and Curry
- Rotiprata Singapore bee hoon
- Charcoal Seafood Steamboat
- Sambal Cuttlefish Petai
- Salted Egg Homemade Beancurd
- Claypot Prawns - Indonesian style

Dont be fooled by the outlook of the place. It looks a bit shabby but it serves one of the best local food you can ever find. Locals can attest to the food they tasted here. Price wise, probably the best value for money seafood in Gelang patah. The owners, very friendly down to earth folks.

Thanks Khorkar for the recommendation !! As a hobby Makan is followed very closely by golf !! definately will b giving it a try after my next round of golf in Malaysia !!

I recall lady boss mention both lunch and dinner - I think dinner about 5 onwards. On alternate wed, its closed.

Fews years back i was staying in leisure farm besides poresia cc & mostly every night go makan thre. Find them friendly & no kato style. wat u eat wat u paid.

i have been seaching for them numbers of times. As i can said the food is cheap & nice.

The lady boss & her husband is very friendly. Know them ards fifteen yrs.

In case of cant find & this is their hp/no You Meng 012-7747021. Ooi Khuan 012-7363992.

Will definitely it next as it is great to have makan options in Gelang Patah besides Tien Lai (which I hv frequented for the past 12 years)

seems like a good place to have supper after driving back late from KL or Malacca taking the 2nd link
