I thought all are the same... it's just the naming pick from the manufacturer whether they want to name it hybrid or rescue....

They are really all the same thing really, just depends how they want to market the club.
In the end what is important is how well you hit it. Basketball

Stand corrected but I read before taylormade managed to register a trademark on 'rescue' for a hybrid club. All other brands call theirs as utility club or hybrid

Really , rescue patented word, interesting
If you search this link for 'rescue' you will see the owner of trademark is listed as Taylormade Golf

Similarly, if you search this link for 'Big Bertha' you can see the owner of trademark is Callaway Golf

Baffled that 'rescue' can be trademarked.

Long before hybrid was made, pro golfers were using so called utility.  It's a club similar to an iron that is easier to hit from the rough.  But it has a thicker sole than a regular iron.

Then rescue club started popping out in early 2000s.  Nike called it "rescue" club.  Because it is simply a rescue club literally.  To help you when you are in trouble.

Around 2006, Tmag started to advertise their "rescue" club as hybrid.  A hybrid is hybrid design between an iron and a wood.

What are the differences between them? Nothing.... they are just easier to hit long irons.

Now manufacturers started a revolution again with "driving iron".  It's not really an iron really.  It's a hybrid with iron head.   Take a look at Mizuno MP H4.  See how big the head of the long irons.  People say they are intended for fast swingers.  That's a myth because driving iron is far more forgiving than your 3 iron.

Since still in this topic......is it necessary to have a 3 or 5 wood, if your bag has a utility/rescue/hybrid. In what way will it differ in distance/game?

I have a utility/rescue/hybrid 21deg, and can hit distances ranging from 180 to 200+m distance. Will it be a good option to invest in a 3 wood??????

Get a 4 wood! It is easier to play and more versatile. Should be able to get the distance you need.
