| I am just curious if any forum members use a belly/long putter on a long term basis.
I previously use a belly putter as a temporary solution when I was putting badly. Now, it is sitting in my store room, but I dont know when my bad putting will show up again.

| I have tried to use a belly putter before and it is sitting in the corner now. Thinking of cutting it down to normal length...... | |

| Have used both. Belly putter lasted longer than the long putter.
I think the belly putter is great. Anchors to your sternum and gives you a solid, consistent base from which to work. It takes some getting used to, especially on the longer putts but from short distances I have never seen anything that comes close as far as consistency.
There are many that will argue that the belly/long putter should be banned. I am not sure I agree with that as it is just another way to putt. There obviously is not that much advantage otherwise everyone would be doing it.

| I also kept a belly putter as back up and similarly fall back to it as putting yips creep in. So, I'm not alone ! I feel that using belly putter, I putt more mechanically and lose my feel, particularly distance judgement, but make up for it by knocking In those 4 footer knee jerkers. These days I'm happier with my 33 inch blade putter
Note: PGA tour player Retief Goosen went to a belly putter and hve not gone back to his normal length putter. Recently I see Adam Scott putt so well with his broomstick putter.
Worthwhile exploring if u need to groove in your stroke. My challenge is finding clubfitter who sell belly putter grip

| My only belly putter was the Scotty Futura. Bought it on impulse.
After purchase, had no idea how to use it. No feel for putts, no feel for distance.
Cut it down to normal length and never looked back.
I believe in working more on the mechanics. Putting has not been bad enuff to turn to the broomstick.

| I think the belly putter or the long putter will help me in getting the correct ball rolling direction but it does bad to my distance control. I am going to stick to my 32.5" putter, distance control in a putt is much more important to me. | |
