As much as I would like to help over here, but fitting people I have not seen swinging a golf club over the Internet is just plain wrong. My suggestion is, go and see a good club fitter and get yourself analyzed. We can throw a thousand different 'suggestions' and 'opinions' here, but it will be a wild guesses.

There are a lot of other variables other than your swing speed to consider when we fit people. Beside one launch monitor will give you a different reading than what we use, so that 105mph might not be what the Trackman reads.

At the end of the day, your trip to a club fitter might save your much more than you would imagine.

The best way to answer your Q is through custom fitting. If you have the three these numbers right, you can add 10-30 yards to your driver:
1. Ball speed: your ball speed off the clubface
2. Launch angle: launch angle of your ball
3. Backspin: the spin of the ball

Also you need to explain to the fitter:
- your current ball flight
- your current distance
- where the ball is going when you miss the shot
- are you comfortable with current driver length

A few good shafts on the market right now:
Fujikura Motore Speeder
Aldila RIP
UST Proforce V2
Matrix Ozik Xcon
Project X

I am a chest thumping convert to how good the japanese shafts are. Namely the rayons diamana series, and Miyazaki shafts. Dollar for dollar though. It is hard to beat proforce v2 shafts for value.

wow, 105miles it is very fast. like what some say, is best to see a clubfitter n put urself on a launch monitor n check ur swing.
quite sure u need a stiff shaft or maybe X but it depends on ur strenght.
Get the right weight shaft too.
Is correct that a US shaft will always beat the price of a Japanese shaft.
Go try some shafts, it will help.

and as for caddyboy Q? just use shafts that are below 50grams, it will help.

Cheers all of u

White Flag

Never see it's 105mph=168kmh, technically that's 24 pts and a court meeting.

Shocked

I think its more than just indicating the brand of the driver and swing speed.

I may be wrong here, but its always better to find a professional fitter to see if:
- You need new shafts
- Your Irons need to be adjusted
- Your hands, legs, butt and waist needs to be adjusted

Rather than to just "I heard that...." and "I think that.....". I don't think we're shaft salesmen here.

I think ladies like Michelle Wie has a swing speed of like 90+++++++mph and the shaft's like stiff/x-stiff.
I think DGMan has seen some junior golfers with swing speeds of like 90+++mph as well and playing like stiff/x-stiff.
