Might look cheap but is not worth joining especially if you are golf every week. The entry fee is low but golfing is very expensive. If you are a avid golfer n play regularly it's much cheaper to join a private club. E.g private club you only pay for buggy $22, no green fee. Nsrcc weekday is $50, weekend $86. I just return my nsrcc membership 2 weeks ago.

Cost of buying private club membership might be too prohibitive for many though. If I can afford to buy OCC, I prob won't be looking at NSRCC.

Was also thinking of joining NSRCC, but decided to forget it and stick to JB/Batam. Probably won't play enough golf to justify joining a club here.

Even the more affordable private clubs cost $40+k. I rather keep the money and whack some blue chips when the economy tanks! Razz

But what's the point of joining private club when your kakis are all not there?

First of all you need to do your sum n depends on how many games you expect to play per month. When I first joined nsrcc I thought it's the cheapest club but after 1 year I realized it's really very expensive. Worst of all I already signed 10 years. I played average of 20 games per months and my annual bills came close to 10k. 6 years = 60k. For private club the joining fee might be high but the running cost is low. E.g if I had joined Seletar instead of nsrcc 6 years ago. My total spending will be less then 50k inclusive of joining fee. I could have save around 15k and still hold a private membership. As for golf kaki it's actually much easier to find new kaki in private club. Most of senior members are rather friendly and easy going. You were be surprise lots of the uncles are single handicapper.
It's best to join a club near to your house or work place. You can just hop over whenever you feel like hitting some balls. No green fee and easy to get slots. So far never encountered any problem getting a slot at OCC or RCC both weekday or weekend. I met lots of nice people n new kaki.
