Bettinardi vs Scotty

Hallo all...

As some know, I'm using a >10 years old McGregor (??? What's that) putter and very often given that strange look as one weirdo who doesn't fall into the folds with the rest..

Just out of curiosity... If there is one putter, which would you go for ?? And anybody ever tried used and compared the two great putters??

If Scotty is a classic BENZ,then Bettinardi will be a classic Rolls-Royce .

Still personal. As long as you can putt well with that putter, that will be the best putter. THere is never an answer of which is better, more like which is preferred.

You need to answer this for yourself, while there are several factors to consider like brand, weight, appearance, feel, etc etc to consider. You should be the one deciding which you like best. Just like how a blade iron may look sexy and feel good, but you might ultimately pick a cavity back iron that may not look as sexy but performs better for you.

If the macgregor putter works for you, don't change unless you are an equipment slut/whore like some of us.

for me...my rationale is as such:

#1 Cost per birdie: since I don get birdie....the cost ( $ cost of putter / # of birdie ) per year is very high. So in order to be more pragmatic, I get a cheap putter so as to match with Slinger.

#2 Look......They both look like Anser..... I think if I draw the family tree of putter.....Anser is like Eden and Eve

#3 Look again.....I just don like the look of the 'birdie-lagi' face...don like the dots look


I use a 20 yr old ping anser-x.....bot at a price of SGD40.

I had both and stuck to Scotty.

My Bettinardi is now a treasure for kengnam...

So, to each, his own

Both are good in their own right.
