Caddy Tips for Ria & Bintan Lagoon

Hello golfing mates,

May I ask how much do you give to the caddies if you play in

Ria Bintan, Bintan Lagoon & Laguna Bintan?

Hmmm, im curious to know, i will be going there from 11th till 13th April.

Normally we give S$20 per person

Wow, $20 per person! Person means caddie, or player?

I play Ria Bintan/Bintan Lagoon once a month, usually I tip $10 per player. If the caddie serves 2 players, we give $20. If we are happy, $25-30. So far no complaints, no unhappy face.

$20 per caddie.. they should be very happy already. pay more if you are really happy.

I remeber seeing something like 100 000 rupiah per caddie in the changing room notice board sometime ago....but could not remember how long ago...

Anytime we have gone over there we tipped $20 SGD per player, so $40 per cart. AS someone who used to caddy and worked in the golf industry that is a fair price for services rendered.

If they were awful, then less is ok. If they were outstanding, then maybe more would be in line. I typically go off of the locals or more experienced people do and follow suit. At the end of the day 5 bucks on a 150-200 dollar day will not make that much difference to me, but might make a difference to the caddy. Just try to help out if I can.

Oops....I got the golf course wrong, was at another course in Indonesia, memory is getting from bad to worse....

Same here, usually S$10 per golfer.. if good then pay S$20.

What makes a good caddy to earn another $10 ?

Other than the usual clean ball, clean clubs, advise on distance etc... i will tip them more if they are able to advise you on accurate distance and putting line. Also, some caddie makes you feel comfortable and able to control your anxiety i.e. if she thinks that you are not hitting well, she will advise against 'chionging' every holes...

I will be there on the 11th and 12th too.
