Advice needed - PRGR EGG Empty
PostSubject: Advice needed - PRGR EGG   Advice needed - PRGR EGG I_icon_minitimeWed Jan 18, 2012 7:35 pm

Guys,

I'm a novice and I plan to pick up my own golf set in a couple of months, currently using x-14 that my uncle gave to me.

Will PRGR Egg drivers/irons suit a player of my level?

And where in Singapore can I find PRGR clubs?

Thanks in advance!

Surprised

anyway, can a novice handle prgr clubs well? I've heard titleist suits advanced players better hence the concern.

Hey,

I don't want to sound "Kill Joy" but

your x-14 clubs are a pretty good club.
I have seen many golfers in my country using that and it performs Best

You said your a Novice. It's best you stick with that club first.
Get a Good Golf coach who will teach you how to Golf

When you can hit a consistent shot.
Then decide to buy what you want.

PRGR may now look appealing in your eyes
But after a year or two, Newer clubs may even look better.

prgr is a very good brand. however i will not go for their 'egg' range. although they are wide-soled and "easy to hit", such clubs tend to prevent beginners from learning the proper golf swing, plus it's just a matter of time that you find the egg-shaped clubs ugly and 'embarassing'.

if you are looking at prgr, go for their normal forged iron range. find those with cavity back so it's suitable for a beginner.

that said, i do agree with eiji that you may want to hold on a while before splurging on prgrs. however i also agree with you that you should move on from your x14s (im not a fan of callaway's chunky cast irons). i suggest you go to fareast shopping centre to look for a used set of mizunos. Look out for MX25, MX100 or MX200.

I may be mistaken but Annika won most of her titles with callaway x-14. IMHO, one of the best callaway irons. Cheers
