| Just needed an opinion. I am currently using Bridggies J36 combo irons with PX5. Which Mizzy (53 or 58) will match it? I thinking of a 2nd set for travelling only. Thanks! | |

I do not mind a 2nd hand set since it is going to be a travel set. However, I do mind the higher trajectory shaft. Unless, I can change it but adding to the price, it will come back to a new set... am i right?

| Its 1 week since I got my MP53.
Had some hesitation when I first got it as the fitter was recommending JPX 800. However, seems quite a easy club to play with after some running in and getting used to it.
So far practice has been at the range. Looking foward to playing on the Greens this coming weekend.

Bro... thanks to your advice... I hit some of my old titleist balls to get a good gauge of the distance I am achieving with my irons and new titleist driver. Quite pleased so far. So some of you may pick up DT solo, NXT tour and Pro V1s a Bishan range.

ball jus checks... A bit off topic but do you feel any difference in the old Pro V1s and the new Pro V1s? I understand they did some changes to the dimples for the new balls.

| Im using the 58s. Good irons... Did try the 53s, felt they were more forgiving...but the 58s were cheaper. No regrets still.. | |

| New here so do be gentle. I have the MX 300 and MP 53. Was playing with Maruman Exim Nano II.
Buttery feeling oversold? Not at all. Wonderful when strike is clean but MX 300 more forgiving. Not yet capable of shaping on demand. Still pretending the slice is a fade. With NSpro (R) the ball balloons. Had the MX 300 reshafted with TT R300 (sl) but still high. A bit more distance so I'll take it.
In summary, MP 53 is wonderful but MX 300 more forgiving. Both force you to hit at the sweet spot to enjoy the butter feeling. I feel I hit my irons better now as a result. Should you get it? Yes!

| I'm a bit like you, buzz. I was gaming the MX-300s for a while. First set of forged irons from Mizuno for me. Loved them to bits. I recently swapped to the MP-58s (2nd hand). Changed the shafts too (from NSPro to PX5.0 HL). I realize that I'm forced to go for the sweet spot a lot more but when I do, I get better ball flight and distance. I love the 58s. They're amazing but I'm sure it has something to do with the new shafts too. If anyone is gunning for the 58s, I highly recommend them | |

| TS, I'm sure this has been asked before, but what difference do you see between the NSPro and PX5.0HL? I'm using the 58s with the stock standard NSPro. | |

From my purely layman-like mindset, the NSPros are lighter and a bit too whippy for me. I found the PX gave me better ball control and more flight. I used to hit my irons a little low but with the PXs, I get more carry and distance. Again, this boils down to hitting them nicely (which sadly doesn't happen as often as I'd like). All that said, I was playing around with the BFG forged irons at the Den last week. I tried some with the graphite shafts and they were sweet! I've always stayed away from graphite shafts because I've broken a few. But oddly, I was able to hit them very nicely at the Den. Don't know why....

| Thanks Techno. With the Maruman, I didn't really feel like I was missing the sweet spot. But with the Mizunos, you know. On a side note, I went for a Ping fitting and had slow swing speed of between 88 and 91 mph for irons. Smash factor was about 1.43. Ping suggested I go for graphite shafts. Machisomo dictates that I stick to iron. Something about me having a flaccid shaft frightens me. But should I consider graphite? Dispersion crazy but oh my, 7 iron was going 150m easy with the Ping Anser heads. Dispersion my fault. | |
