Anyone here taking part? Any updates?
As usual, minimal coverage in our local media.
1st time at Warren, I think 3 years at Kranji? ( black tee ) and the rest at Sembawang.
Great opportunity to see the local boys in action.

One thing for sure, the course is not going to be a walk in the park especially if they play gold. The rough is much thicker than usual and really hard to take the ball out as I experienced it yesterday. The WGCC amatuers are the ones on advantage as it it their home course but I am not going to rule out the rest.

Yesterday greens was at 9.8 but grass was not cut and greens were not rolled, so after this morning's cutting and rolling, I am expecting it to run at 11.5-12.0. Like what S70B call it, warren greens are like potato chips cos its super undulating. So course knowledge will have a lot of advantage.

Length is a big issue for shorthitters ( read me ), the super hard/fast greens 12-13 & the most cruel pin positions ( thats what the organisers call them ) is no joke.
I once 5 putted 1 hole ( and the organisers where cheering and thanking me for the entertainment ).

Walau...scary....from the 1st round score, we have almost scratch player playing in the 90s......

chiak lak liao....guess on the 20th, I will need to recalibrate my expectation liao..

haha... duval, the scratch player playing in the 90s is not a real scratch player.. he is one of my friends... every week we have 2 games when i was in london.. on a good day his score is 76.. bad day can go up to 80+++...

just that his HI is maintained very low cos he kena penalty score from his club.. hehe... anyway... it does indeed look very challenging...

what is scratch player....

every now and then i scratch my head or my err before i play every shot.. can i be consider as "scratch" player? hahahha sori... joking...

yah JT, u qualify as scratch...

fyi, scratch means your handicap is 0 lor.. then u are a scratch player...

so u wanna declare that you are a scratch player now?? next game give strokes already hor..

After a game at MBGC last Sat, "i" also came back and told me that Uncle Jake is "King of Up and Down". Uncle Jake must have been a great inspiration; on Monday, "i" came back with his lowest ever score from white ; he said he achieved several up and down for the round...

i average 95 per round.. not like UL... 88!!!!

Roy, here's a quick link that explains what up and down is. If Jake is indeed king of up and downs, he must have saved Pars many times during the game!
