I think some rules set by moderators are for the benefit of the community as a whole, and sometime some rules are lax-ed due to reasons that do not violate the rules or cross the lines too much. I don't see any issue with moderators relaxing on these rules sometimes. I would think that a golf forum would be more mature compared to most, largely due to age of the participants in this forum, but it doesn't seem so.

I am a moderator for 2 forums, there's no way for a moderator to read every thread in each forum unless he was paid to do it full time, the mods here volunteer their time and effort, so give them some credit and cut them some slack.
