| thanks for the shout out guys.
any advice for thin shots?
i'm experiencing arms swinging a little outward when at impact, causing the club to go off the plane, experiencing thin shots. sometimes it's so bad, that i will hit the ball with the hosel.
i suspect that it could be caused by the low angle back swing, where the left arm is lower than the right shoulder at the top of the backswing.
another possible reason is the lifting of the right heel too fast, which i highly doubt so.
hope someone can give me some pointers.
thanks! | |

| thanks guys.
dave: i got my PC through a 10 hours useless course from a groupon coach at bishan. wasn't taught much on the fundamental.
subsequently, i went through another 10 odds hours of personal coaching in thailand. the first 5 hours was from a caucasian pro in pattaya, where i was taught some fundamental and my swing looks much better. but still, i still ain't getting much hit rate.
after that, i attended another 5-7 hours of coaching from another thai pro. here, i was able taught on the swing movement. i was able to backswing with less effort, using more shoulder and hips movement.
but now that i am back in singapore, something went wrong somewhere which i couldn't figure out what is wrong, that caused me my thin shots.
i am suspecting it to be my laid off and low backswing, after going through some videos yesterday.

| You seems to be travelling about. But if you are going to stay put in Singapore for quite a while, I would suggest you find a local coach and stick with him/her. My feel about having different coaches (including Internet videos) will confuse you in your effort to build a consistent swing. | |

| nah, i just travel to visit my in law.
it's cheaper, hence i went for it.
i'm trying to find a coach as well, but from what i read fromt he forum, there isn't any recommended coach at MBGC.
i guess the market rate for pro coaching is around 80-100$/hour, right?

thanks! Hi I am also beginner golfer. Went through the same phase as you. My coach will always say, "relax! don't hit the ball. Swing your arms, don't swing the club"

| daveteh: thanks! i'll consider it.
nam flog & willytan: thanks for the advice. in fact, my coach taught me to forget totally about the arms and focus on the knees and hips, which i have been doing it quite successfully. my grips are so much lighter now.
i usually range at MBGC during the off peak hours.

| if anyone is interested, i found out the reason for my low left arm backswing. it was basically my right arm, clamping too tightly to my body.
here's the link.
