15th YMCA Charity Golf 2014 @ Sentosa Golf Club

Dear golfers,

My organisation, YMCA of Singapore is organising its 15th YMCA Charity Golf tournament from 23 to 24 April 2014 at the Sentosa Golf Club.

YMCA is a charity that serves the community.

All proceeds from the 15th YMCA Charity Golf will go towards the YMCA-Lim Kim San Volunteers Programme Fund to enable YMCA to develop and enhance the capabilities of volunteers to serve the less privileged in our community.

Day 1 (23 April 2014)
Individual Tournament
Tanjong Course
Per ball @ $750 each
Per flight @ $3,000 each

Day 2 (24 April 2014)
Lim Kim San Corporate Challenge
Serapong Course
Per flight @ $6,000 each

As YMCA is an approved IPC (Institution of a Public Character), all cash contributions of $50 and above will entitle the donor to a tax relief of 250% the amount of cash contributed.

For example, a cash contribution of $750 for 1 ball on 23 April will entitle the donor to a tax relief of $1,875.
A cash contribution of $3,000 for 1 flight on 23 April will entitle the donor to a tax relief of $7,500.
A cash contribution of $6,000 for 1 corporate flight on 24 April will entitle the corporation to a tax relief of $15,000.

Tax relief of 250%!?

i don't believe so..  tax relief of $7500 from $3000 cash contribution means  your taxable income get reduced by $7500.  For example if one's income is 100,000 year, your taxable income will be 100,000 less of 7500, thus you will pay less but not full saving of 7500

This means if you take up 1 ball @ $750, you can claim a tax relief of $1,875.
