RBC Canadian Open 2013

The Open Championship is a hard act to follow, but the RBC Canadian Open is being held this week right after The Open.  And this year, the field is actually VERY strong and consists of several players in the top 10 in the world as well as Major championship winners:

Luke Donald, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Billy Horschel, Ryo Ishikawa, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan, Bubba Watson, Graeme McDowell, Seung Yul Noh, Charl Schwartzel, Vijay Singh, Brandt Snedeker, Kyle Stanley, Mike Weir, Y.E. Yang, Adam Hadwin, Sang Moon Bae.

It's being held at Glen Abbey in the province of Ontario this week (where Tiger hit his amazing fairway bunker shot over water) - we were lucky to watch the Canadian Open in person in 2011 at the Shaugnessy Golf Club in Vancouver... wish the Tour would come back to the west coast more often, but it was great being able to see such world class players in person!  Should be a fun tournament to keep up with this week!!!

Was watching the 3rd round of the Canadian Open today with Hunter Mahan leading the tournament.  He had to withdraw because his wife went into labour though!

I think PGA Tour Father of the Year candidates are probably going to Phil or Hunter this year, lol!

Hunter Mahan definitely got my vote! To withdraw midway from a lead is not easy. The baby will bring him good luck! Wish him a fantastic year ahead.

Tournament concluded today with Brandt Snedeker winning with a total score of 16-under.  He had a pretty funny tweet afterwards too, lol!
