Maybe I wasn't aware.
There is such thing as a 36 Handicap.
This is for men?
I bet I will get this when I go for my H'cap test.
Nothing less :-(
Is it good enough or not for man?
Used to think 24 is norm for man.

This is part of the uspga thing.
http://www.usga.org/Rule-Books/Handicap-System-Manual/Rule-03/
Nice reading.

max handciap for man is 36.4.
In additon, you also need to be aware of the formula to convert your handicap index to course index using the slope rating of the course where you got handcicap index versus the course your playing. Generally, this may means you get extra strokes.

But I think the main practical implication is that some courses in Singapore only allow 24 hcp and below to play. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

36.4 is the minimum HCP index to get when you submit your 5 x 18h scorecard after you pass the HCP test.

This rules usually applies on weekend to reduce "traffic congestion" in some high volume courses.

When you submit the 5 score card they already calculated the hcap index liao. The courtesy round I think is to see if you can really hit the ball boh. And most importantly the etiquette.
The above is the case for me when I took the courtesy round in NSRCC last year. My hcap index was 36.1 Very Happy . I submitted 6 x18 hole.
Btw, the guideline says to submit 5x18 of less than 116 for man.
