Question on driver swing Empty
PostSubject: Question on driver swing   Question on driver swing I_icon_minitimeMon Sep 24, 2012 10:15 pm

I tee my ball up so that it lies halfway up my driver face.

Question: On the driver swing, should you aim to hit the ball or just swing as per normal ?

I swing as per normal and noticed that my ball marks are on the higher part of the clubface, so my ball tends to go abit higher.

Now another question: to correct this, should I lower my Tee or swing higher?

I do ground my driver before a Tee shot. I heard it is better not to?

Thank you for your advice in advance Smile

try doing one method or both..

meaning, try teeing lower, see if u are hitting lower on the club face, if not,

try hovering ur club at address.

if both don't work, use both method together.

if still fail, go see a coach, my guess is u have a steep downswing.

The other factor to look at is whether your driver is descending into impact or ascending at impact.

Your driver should be ascending at impact, hitting down with the driver is another possible reason for high contact on the clubface. Swing

not sure if anyone else is doing the same, but very recently i positioned my hands nearer to the center of my body, ie shaft leaning about 20 degrees away from target. It has worked wonders for me. Shots become straighter or with a slight fade. Distance wise, maybe suffer 5 - 10 meters.

garylin, if you want more roll, then you tee up shorter. if you don't want too much roll, tee up higher. generally, higher ball flights tend to have less roll. but it depends on individuals, i've seen people tee off so high, high ball flights, but still got a lot of roll.
